CarShippingHub is an independent consumer information and lead-matching service for auto transport. We are not a carrier — we don't own trucks. When you request a quote through our site, we share your route and vehicle details with one of the licensed and insured brokers or carriers in our partner network who fits your specific origin, destination, and vehicle type. That partner then contacts you with a quote and handles the actual shipment.
The partners in our network are independently verified against federal FMCSA records for active operating authority, valid cargo insurance, and safety history — regardless of whether they pay us a partnership fee.
How We're Different from Other Auto Transport Websites
Most car shipping comparison sites make money the same way: they collect your contact info, sell it to 5-10 brokers simultaneously, and let them fight over who calls you first. You end up with a flooded inbox, aggressive salespeople, and no clear sense of who's trustworthy.
We don't do that.
CarShippingHub was built with one principle: information should come before transactions. Every tool on this site is free and works without you entering your phone number. How Our Estimates Work
Our shipping cost calculator is not a lookup against a static price table. It calculates every estimate live, using two real data sources:
- Live diesel fuel prices from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). The EIA publishes national and regional on-highway diesel averages weekly. Our calculator pulls the current published price for the trucking corridor covering your route — not a stale number from last quarter.
- Actual road distance from Google Maps. We use the same distance data that carriers and brokers use to price shipments — not straight-line miles. Distances account for real interstate routing, mountain passes, and metro-area detours.
Those two live inputs plus your vehicle class, transport type (open or enclosed), and origin/destination market conditions produce the range you see on route and cost pages.
What the estimate is — and what it isn't
The estimate is a realistic market range derived from live fuel + distance data. It is what a broker or carrier who quotes your route today would likely land within, assuming standard conditions.
The estimate is not a locked-in price. Your final rate is set by the broker or carrier who actually accepts your load, and can vary based on:
- Carrier availability on your specific route and dates
- Season, weather events, and hurricane / winter routing detours
- Vehicle condition (running vs non-running, modifications, oversize)
- Pickup and delivery accessibility (residential direct-door vs meet-lot vs rural)
- Expedited service requests
- Fuel price movement between estimate and dispatch
- Individual broker or carrier margin decisions
When you request a quote through our site, the licensed and insured partner from our network who fits your route will confirm your final price with you before dispatch. If our estimate turns out significantly higher or lower than what the market delivers on your specific dates, we would rather you know the framework than trust a number blindly.
How CarShippingHub Makes Money
We believe in full transparency about our business model. Here's how we keep the lights on:
- Partner referral fees. When you request a quote through our site, we share your route and vehicle details with the partner in our network who fits — and that partner may pay us a referral fee if they successfully quote or book your shipment. The fee is paid by the partner, not by you, and does not increase your shipping cost.
- Targeted lead-matching, not lead auctions. We share your details only with a partner whose route coverage and vehicle capability match your shipment. We do not sell your details to five different brokers at once. We do not sell your details to partners who don't fit your route. We do not run a bidding auction on your inbox.
- Advertising (coming soon). We may offer advertising placements for verified carriers and industry suppliers in the future. All advertisements will be clearly labeled and will never influence our editorial content or tool results.
That's it. We don't sell your data to unrelated third parties. We don't run a lead auction. We don't charge consumers for any tool or information on this site.
